time for a new do.

oooooh sweet husband......
are you busy...
no... great.... can you come here for a minute.....
would you please just do this.

a couple minutes of convincing and reassurance.

noooo you will not mess this up.
you just stop it right now. really. just do it.

yes. really. please cut my hair. i can't stand it. not for another day.

he says... okay. cut to where.
i say... it doesn't matter.
he says... how about here.
i say... yes, that is fine.
he says... here... are you sure.
i say... yes.

he's pulling one serious face at this point and holding his breath.

snip.snip.snip.
6 inches on the bathroom floor.

good job mr. c can i book another appointment in 6 weeks.

i've had a classic 'bob' more times than i can remember in just about every length and variation.
also in just about every color from white blond to plum purple. true.

i guess it was time to rock out the bob again.

flip it up or under or a combination.
with bangs or not.
on my face or tucked behind ears.

it feels really good to get a new do.

happy tuesday!
xo tracie

have you ever had your husband/spouse/partner cut your hair?
and how'd all that work out for you?
what style have you had over and over?
what is the wildest hair color you ever tried?

  1. You look marvelous, I love that hair style. The husband did a fantastic job!! My hair has been every length over the years. I once got tired of it and cut it off myself. It's been really short like a pixie, cut in a bob like yours, super long, all kinds of ways. Now I just let it grow, but I think i might put some colour in it one day, maybe electric blue or something like that :))) But, you look super!! Xxx

Your hair looks fabulous! Your hubby may have missed his calling! ;) blessings ~ tanna

  4. Wow, he did a fabulous job, it looks great and that's a beautiful photo. I would NEVER (and I can't emphasize that enough!) let my husband cut my hair....EVER. NEVER EVER, EVER!!!!! I am team bob though - every now and then I have a change, grow it a bit etc but I always go back to the bob. :)

so let's get this straight you're never ever letting your husband cut your hair! ever. LOL

a photographer i am not and have mentioned i had been trying to make friends with our new-ish camera for some time... my confession... the photo was taken on the 'food' setting... ya cause i'm such a photographer!
i don't know if that is funny or sad. then tweaked it with a 'retro' edit.
you are shaking your head i know.

  5. Your hubby did an amazing job - I wouldn't let mine anywhere near my hair with a pair of scissors !!!! I do cut his hair - well I machine his hair with anything from a #1-#4 depending on the weather and how 'long' he wants it - lol !!!!

I generally have a bob in lots of different lengths although in January last year I had a pixie cut. Got tired of that about 4 months after having it done so am now growing it out again but probably won't grow it as long as I used to have it as I am getting on a little now !!!!

    Have a great day !
Love, hugs and positive energy !

    1. well thank you i will pass on your compliment to him :)

i love how many women cut their husband's hair! it really is a very sweet thing to do whatever the method used :)

i loved my super short hair but the grow out is a process... for me around the ears was always the worst!

and yes i understand about hair length and age. i never mind looking my age, for i am what i am and thankful for it, but i never want a hair style (or color) that makes me look older than i am.

  6. I had a bob for about 10 years. It is a very popular cute. I agree that your hair should not age you. I will probably dye my hair until the day I die.

    1. hi kelleyn, me too!
i have a running joke with a friend. i told her once that i think about not coloring my hair every month and just giving in.
she told me she will punch me in my face if i do. so i guess i'll keep coloring, don't want to risk the punch.
i'm in the 50%+ gray club now.
      oh well.
      have a great day :)

  9. That is one super hot photo lady - I love it, well done to the hubster. I'm not precious about my hair at all ... it grows back. I've had everything from a number 2 buzz cut to really long hair and every colour imaginable. I haven't let Micko cut it, but friends have cut it and have numerous times been a hair model with some interesting results!

    Love love love that photo!

    1. oh gosh thank you! :)
i loved sinead tooooo! but i was not that brave either!

the shortest i had was k.d. lang short... not on purpose like i wanted to get a k.d. lang cut... after the fact explaining over the phone how short my hair was i said... you know short... reallllly short... like k.d. lang, short. so that was my k.d. lang phase.

women loved it. and told me so!

men hated it. and told me so and i just didn't care! hahaha

i loved it and kept it for a long time, but now feel my best not going extremes in either way for length and age... i'll take adorable!!! hahaha :)
