well hello there!

these days...
bad blogger.
however...
good wife. good house keeper lady. good (excellent) bread maker and all around filler of hungry tummies and we've had a house full. good at lots of things domestic these days, but not a good blogger or blog visitor friend. no.

very bad.
sorry.

i ended up on an unintentional extended blog break.
to get caught up after my summer away my intentions were to write a few times a week for 30 minutes or so and visit 3-5 blogs.... do-able right?
Q. what is the road to hell paved with?
A. good intentions.
so there ya go.

i always get stuck with where to start writing when i get so far behind.
so maybe it's best to start from present and work backwards and sideways and random. because at least it's something. right?

my eldest daughter is having a baby in may.
first grand baby.
i'm going to need a name alternative to 'grandma' that is more suited to my sassy personality.
however in the end i will answer to grandma and smile and totally melt.

my youngest daughter is going to culinary school. i am thrilled. soooo very thrilled!
she has talked about cooking professionally since the age of 5. yes, 5.

i gave up coffee 2 months ago. it was easier for me to give up cigarettes. (that was almost 20 yrs ago)
i am trying to embrace tea.
i miss coffee.

walking in the rain catching the last of the autumn color

it's been a typical helsinki autumn pretty much gray and chilly. lots of rain. typical.

this morning we woke to our first snow covering of the season. it was pretty, but i am not ready for it.

wishing everyone some sunshine on your faces today!

back home... in helsinki

just stopping by to say
HI!

wow where has the time went?

i am back in helsinki..
i've been catching up with life around here and trying to get back in the swing of 'normal'.
what is that anyway?

little by little i will get caught up and back into the swing of blogging.
i have so much i want to tell you about my summer adventures.

a summer of so many hugs and lovely visits with our families....
and a week in italy.... a perfect week.
a romantic trip of a life time in tuscany.

so before i go on and on...
i just wanted to say a quick hello
i'll be getting caught back up soon, visiting blogs and finding out what
everyone was up to all summer!

wishing everyone a happy day!

our shore is calling us back

so we must go.
at least for a little while.

we've gone to catch lightening bugs and splash around in the lakes
but most of all we've gone to squeeze on our loved ones
i'll be popping in now and then when my daughters need a break from all my hugs and kisses
